What Is An Awning?

Patio awnings tend to be attached to the building, for example over patio doors or large balcony areas, but they can also be freestanding, with a framework supporting a fabric roof that is either fixed to the ground with concrete foundations or on stabilisation boxes.

To know which one would be ideal for your patio, consider storage and assembly: freestanding awnings tend to be more flexible with installation taking place away from the property, whereas patio and pergola awnings are fixed to the building with wall brackets.
